I remapped special to middle mouse button. I remapped dash to my right mouse button as dash is used constantly and set the option to dash to mouse cursor. Had my longest win streak when I was working on bounties for all weapons level by level (other than bow which I'd already completed bounties) with a 50+ streak. Even after getting my first clear, there were gaps between new clears but eventually I started consistently getting to the last boss and picking up more wins and then I started picking up nice wins streaks and getting the clear with all weapons. You'll hopefully start to get to the final boss more consistently. You'll eventually get your first win and try new weapons or use the Pact of Punishment to add heat for new rewards. This variety and discovery helps keep the early game feeling exciting, and is really useful for easing you into the game’s mechanics.Įventually, after countless hours of grinding, you’ll finally unlock all the upgrades from the House Contractor. But because the Dark Thirst buff swaps to a different weapon each run, it also encourages you to try out a variety of weapons and playstyles while you figure out which ones are your favourite. Initially, it’s just an easy way to unlock upgrades faster. When you’re just starting out as a new player, you’ll tend to gravitate towards using whichever weapon has the Dark Thirst buff. These upgrades are extremely useful and are borderline essential if you want to make it to the surface. If you choose the weapon with Dark Thirst, you’ll obtain 20% more Darkness during that run (which is an in-game currency used to purchase permanent player upgrades from the Mirror of Night). At random, one of the weapons will have a shadowy purple aura indicating that it has the temporary Dark Thirst buff. At the start of each run, you get to choose a weapon to take with you on your escape attempt. If you haven’t played Hades yet, the Dark Thirst mechanic is deceptively straightforward.
